Subash Chandra Bose was one of the most celebrated freedom fighter and charismatic influencer of the youth of India. His patriotism, call for freedom and obdurate refusal to stop before achieving the desired goal have made him a hero. Due to his nationalistic temperament and leadership attribute, Rabindranath Tagore was the first who addressed him as Netaji. The Provisional Government of Free India consisted of a Cabinet headed by Subhas Chandra Bose as the Head of the State, The Prime Minister and the Minister for War and Foreign Affairs.Mr. S. A. Ayer – the Minister of Broadcasting and Publicity, Lt. Col. A. C. Chatterji – the Minister of Finance, Rani Brigade (Women’s Regiment) led by Laxmi Swaminathan and they have their own Intelligence department also. Azad Hind Fauj consists with 43000 soldiers whereas 26000 soldiers got martyred in battle field and whereas more than 35000 British soldiers were killed by Indian National Army. AHF was recognised as a legitimate state by only a small number of countries limited solely to Axis powers and their allies. Azad Hind had diplomatic relations with nine countries: Nazi Germany, the Empire of Japan, Italian Social Republic, Independent State of Croatia and Wang Jingwei Government, Thailand, the State of Burma, Manchukuo and the Second Philippine Republic. On the declaration of its formation in occupied Singapore the Taoiseach of Ireland, Éamon de Valera, sent a note of congratulations to Bose. Vichy France, however, although being an Axis collaborator, never gave formal political recognition to Azad Hind. This government participated as an observer in the Greater East Asia Conference in November 1943.

Last year 2018 the 75th Foundation of Azad Hind Government has been celebrated in Red Fort traditionally initiated by Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi and celebrated with enthusiastic in entire nation. In discussion with Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court P.B.Chatterjee and Lord Clement Attlee, he considered Netaji and his army conceding independence to India, credited the erosion of loyalty to the British Crown among the Indian army and navy personnel as a result of the military activities of Netaji, to be the principal reason why the British had to leave India.
On 23 August 2007, Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzō Abe visited the Subhas Chandra Bose memorial hall in Kolkata.Abe said to Bose’s family “The Japanese are deeply moved by Bose’s strong will to have led the Indian independence movement from British rule. Netaji is a much respected name in Japan.” For the past few decades, the so-called one-sided media have been undermining Netaji’s contribution and eroding his role in the independence movement. There was a ridiculous attempt to forget him from the pages of history. Now the time has come to recognize this reality and incorporate Netaji’s role in pushing the British out in history books.
